Modern construction is no longer limited to structural solidity and architectural beauty, but is also measured by its operational efficiency and its impact on the environment. The sixth dimension of Building Information Modeling (BIM 6D) represents an advanced stage that focuses entirely on “Sustainability & Energy Efficiency”.
BIM 6D allows engineers to simulate and analyze the building’s performance before laying the foundation stone. Through this dimension, we can study energy consumption, wind movement, the effect of natural lighting, and the efficiency of heating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. This early analysis helps in choosing the most appropriate materials and orienting the building optimally to reduce the carbon footprint and reduce operating costs in the long term.
Relying on (BIM 6D) is an essential step in obtaining international green building certifications such as (LEED). By incorporating this technology into our design methodology, we are not building silent concrete structures, but rather creating smart structures that breathe and interact with their environment, generating huge savings for owners throughout the life cycle of the building, and ensuring a clean environmental legacy for future generations.
